Position Overview: The Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a State Administrative Manager (Business Manager) for its Training Division. This position provides administrative leadership for the Green Oaks and Northern Training Academies, overseeing budget, operations, and strategic initiatives to support statewide correctional training and advance MDOC’s mission.

The Business Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating division‑wide administrative functions, including strategic planning, policy development, budget administration, procurement and contract management, facilities coordination, and administrative staffing. This role ensures training academy operations are efficient, compliant with departmental and statewide standards, and aligned with MDOC’s operational and workforce development objectives.

Serving as the primary liaison between the Training Division and MDOC leadership, the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), external stakeholders, and other state agencies, the Business Manager plays a key role in coordination and communication across multiple levels of government. The position also leads cross‑functional initiatives focused on modernizing training infrastructure, implementing new technologies, and improving business and administrative processes to enhance training effectiveness.
